omg, new coffee !!!1!!

Starting on Monday, we will be carrying JJ’s new special reserves at crema.

Get excited.  They rock our world.

In addition to the Kenyan and Ethiopian, there is a Colombian as well, but I haven’t tried it yet.

Here are the descriptions as per JJ’s website:

Kenya Gatomboya Barichu Co-operative -
Wine-like & full-bodied.
Undertones of coconut and pepper.

Organic Sidamo Birbissa Co-operative (Natural Processed) -
Flavour of strawberry compote.
Undertones of watermelon and florals.

Colombia Huila La Plata -
Classic cup.
Lots of body & refined acidity.
Notes of walnuts & cocoa.

Come in for a press, then take home a 1/2 pound.

I bought a pound of the Colombia Huila La Plata. Not African, but a very nice cup of coffee. The description nails it. Cheers!

Tried the Sidamo today, very exciting. Was very active on the pallet and not something you taste often. The fruity flavors most definatley come through.

I hadn’t tried the Colombian at the time of making this post so I didn’t make mention of it, but I like it. It certainly provides a nice break from the Africans, if there is such a thing.

Had a friend come in the other night who states “he hates coffee.” Always get the hot chocolate.

Pressed the Sidamo, steamed white chocolate with orange zest and cream….inspired by you George. Went half and half with the Sidamo and white chocolate-orange zest cream (thought the orange and white chocolate would compliment the strawberry flavors). Applied a little zest on top. The so called coffee hater loved it. Made a great dessert drink.

Best thing about it is he’s now ready to try something more traditional.

    Gold Reserve is dynamite.
